Youth Media Project

The Flint Youth Media Project was founded in 2010 to give youth the media tools to voice their artistic expressions. The purpose of Flint Youth Media Project is to provide experiential learning opportunities for future filmmakers, to continue preserving the many stories of America's Veterans with the help of these students, and offering student workshops at community hubs throughout the city with opportunities to work with professional mentors from iMichigan Productions.

Veteran Narratives Series (VNS) recognizes that we are all connected through the generations by a Veteran in our Family. The VNS brings Veterans into the classrooms to impress the importance of the legacy these Veterans can leave in the hands and memories of young people. It encourages and engages young people in interviewing family members who are Veterans. These filmed stories are available at veterannarratives.com and are archived by the Flint Public Library. Students can also submit written stories and a photo at Family Veteran Stories online at our website.
